The government will invest €900,000 a year to buy fruit, vegetables and milk for schoolchildren.

The five-year project will run for five years in government, private and church primary schools.

Agriculture Parliamentary Secretary Clint Camilleri said that the choice of food had been based on input from parents as well as educators.
