The Maltese may be puzzled when seeing a bunch of eco-friendly cars cruising the streets of Malta, wondering what type of car they are driving.

Smarter Car Rentals started operating on May 1 with a modern, innovative concept by hiring the quadricycles. The company has introduced its new Renault Twizy that seats two people, has excellent road-holding, is nifty, silent and cool inside and, most important of all, it is totally green, producing zero emissions.

Twizys are very small, noticeable and nimble, allowed on bus lanes and offering effortless parking – the capability of a scooter with the stability of four wheels. They can be charged from any domestic socket or at the various electricity points around Malta. They range up to 100km and are fully charged within three-and-a-half hours.

Smarter Car Rentals operates daily from the Valletta Cruise Port, where their eco-tours leave from. Their approach is to offer a service that is affordable, fun and environmentally friendly. The logo of the company is  ‘Greener, Cleaner, Smarter’.

Smarter Car Rentals eco-tours visit the Three Cities. Next, they follow the coast road to Blue Grotto, passing through winding countryside roads and arrive at their final destination – the beautiful, walled city of Mdina.
