An event called Canta e Cammina (Sing and Walk), combining a performance by Gozitan choir Schola Cantorum Jubilate with literature readings and an informative tour, will be held today at the Augustinian cloister of St Mark’s Priory, Rabat.
The choir, directed by Marouska Attard, will perform – a cappella and accompanied – a repertoire of pieces by Mozart, Bach, Zelenka, Pitoni, Caruana, Aguiar, Buti, Rutter and Gjielo. The pieces will be interspersed with inspiring pieces of literature read by professionals.
During the performance, both the choir and audience will move from one place to another within the cloister, whose architecture and peaceful surroundings, combined with the music, singing and literature readings, promises a unique experience of artistic beauty.
During the event, patrons will also be able to visit the exhibition Profiles… Human and Divine by artist and iconographer Nathanael Theuma.
Canta e Cammina will take place at St Mark’s Priory, Rabat, today at 7pm. The activity is in aid of the upkeep and conservation of the cloister and church. To book, call 9984 4628 or 7906 1945.
