The event, coordinated by the Iklin local council, consists of a number of cultural, educational and entertaining activities organised by NGOs and local groups.

From 9am onwards, the San Pio X musical society will perform a band march around the village streets that will end with a concert in Anton Buttigieg Street.

There will be fun activities for children between 10.30am and 2.30pm organised by the Iklin Scout Group during which scout leaders will also help youngsters create crafts for Mother’s Day.

At 11am, families and children are invited to bring their pets to be blessed by the parish priest.

Throughout the event, a ‘Kitchen Garden’ will offer a rosemary drink, fruit cake and fruit to promote a healthy lifestyle.

A mini-infiorata made up of 10,000 seasonal flowers will decorate the street and there will be stands selling plants. Residents are invited to collect plants from 2.30pm onwards.
