Welcome to today's foreign news roundup.

Today's top foreign news item is due later in the day, when President Donald Trump announces whether he will stick to the Iran nuclear deal. Most expect the US to back out of the deal, but the UK, Britain and Germany say they will stick with it.

Meanwhile, political uncertainty continues to plague Italy and it is looking increasingly likely that the country will need to hold a repeat general election, in July, after the political parties failed to form a government after the last general election a couple of months ago.

In other news, a top Chinese official is due to visit Washington an attempt to prevent a trade war between the US and China.

And in India, 22 arrests have been made as the country continues to grapple with rape and weak official response to such crimes.
