While agreeing wholeheartedly that one should not park one’s car in front of someone else’s garage, blocking its entrance, it is about time the authorities swoop down on garage owners who use their garages as apartments without ever parking their cars therein.
Despite this the “garage” owners still have the cheek to display a “garage in use day & night” sign on their garage door. This is especially true of garages in seaside villages.
In some places these garage owners have even convinced the authorities to paint double yellow lines on the road in front of their garage so as to ensure they always have a parking space available in front of their residence. I have also observed that in many cases there is not even a ramp allowing access from the street to the garage, just a normal high pavement.
Given the desperate shortage of parking spaces all over the island it is surely time for this flagrant abuse to be stopped.
