ABELA. On May 4, at Dar il-Madonna tal-Mellieħa, Mellieħa CARMELA, of Mellieħa, aged 92, passed peacefully away  comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Sonny and his wife Ann, Walter and his wife Rita, Lino and his wife Jacqueline, Anna and her husband Alfred Gauci, Marika, Marcelle Fenech and David Fenech, her grandchildren Jonathan and his wife Nicole, Karen, Joachim Walter, Monique Marie, Alistair Zepp, Reuben, Matthew and his girlfriend Luana, Andrew, Rebecca, Izaak and Kyra, her sisters Pia, widow of Joseph Cassar, Kristina Pullicino, Violet and her husband Peter Micallef, their respective families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Monday, May 7 at 2pm for Our Lady of Victories (Marija Bambina) parish church, Mellieħa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment at Sultana tal-Vittorji Cemetery, Mellieħa. BORG. On May 4, at St Vincent De Paule residence, GAETANO, aged 93, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Josephine, his sons Kenneth and wife Corinne, Tano and his wife Maria, his grandchildren Jade and Dale, Emily, widow of his brother Frans and his wife’s sister Ċensina, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow, Monday, May 7, at 2.30pm at St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. CASSAR. On May 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANNA (Annie il-Ġermaniża), of Valletta, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Joseph, her daughter Josephine and her husband Vincent Camilleri, Charlie and his wife Rose, and Anton and his wife Jacqueline, her grandchildren Heinrich, Holger, Calvin, Elaine and Dale, spouses, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, May 8 at 1.15pm for St Paul Shipwrecked parish church, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. FENECH. On May 5, at Mater Dei Hospital, LAWRENCE, of Sliema, aged 68, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Elena, his children Christine and her husband Karl Gambin, Alex and his wife Roberta, his grandchildren Nicholas and Mattea, his father John, his brother Alfred and wife Marie, his sister Elizabeth and her husband Ronald Agius, his brother-in-law Tonio Azzopardi and his wife Isabelle, his sister-in-law Chiara and her husband Mario Felice, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Monday, May 7, at 1.45pm, for Our Lady of Lourdes parish church, San Ġwann, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Emmanuela, his children Marisa and her husband Karl Galea, Claudette and her husband Kamal Edgeli, Lorna and her husband Clint Taliana, Janet and her husband Jurgen Cauchi, grandchildren Emma, Elisa, Isabella, Amelia, Jake and Julia, his brothers and sisters, in-laws and their families, other relatives and friends. SCIBERRAS. On May 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY née Gauci, wife of the late Anthony, aged 79, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter AnneMarie and husband Stephen Hedge, her son Ray and partner Denise, her sisters Josephine, wife of David Holloway, and Corinne Gauci, her brothers-in-law Dr Eddie Fenech Adami and Arthur Sciberras, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday, May 9, for Our Lady, Mother of Good Counsel church, Paceville, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Lija cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. The family would also like to thank the staff at Roseville Nursing Home for their care.

ATTARD BONDI – VICTOR. In loving memory. His son Dennis and his wife Michelle, his beloved grandchildren Emma and Matthew, his sister Grace, wife of Frank Fenech, in-laws, nephews and nieces. Mother’s Day bazaar

A Mother’s Day bazaar in aid of the Guardamangia parish church will be held at the parish centre until next Sunday. Opening hours are from 9.30am to noon and between 3 and 7pm.

Prayers for priests and vocations

A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held on Saturday at Gudja parish church. The prayer meeting starts at 9pm with Mass, followed by adoration until 11pm.
