The Nationalist Party’s general council, on the theme Infasslu Futur Flimkien (Building a Future Together) starts on Sunday and will meet daily until May 13.

PN leader Adrian Delia will close the council’s first and last sessions.

The council will be discussing the party’s work in the past year and look ahead at its internal work for the country. Themes to be discussed include work in the party structures and in several sectors including the European Union.

The party will continue to discuss its renewal and a motion moved by the party’s youth section and the party’s general secretary Clyde Puli will propose that a quota of at least 14 members under 30 in the party’s executive.

This will represent 15 per cent of membership. The motion also proposes the creation of a new branch for adolescent youth. This was intended to again make the party one for young people, ready to meet the challenges of the future.

The council will be presided by party president Kristy Debono and coordinated by Amanda Abela. The administrative report will be moved by Mr Puli.
