Once again, the Gaulitanus Choir have brought to a successful end yet another memorable and enjoyable classical music festival held in various localities across Gozo.

As usual, the climax of the annual springtime international festival was this year’s opera night, namely Norma, a tragedia lirica in two acts by Vincenzo Bellini with libretto by Felice Romani. It is widely regarded as a leading example of the bel canto genre.

Thanks especially to the impressive artistic talents of maestro Colin Attard, the mentor of the Gaulitania – A Festival of Music, who conducted in an impeccable manner the Malta Philarmonic Orchestra and the Gaulitanus Choir, together with an international cast comprising Amarilli Nizza, as Norma (the high priestess of the druidical temple), Anna Maria Chiuri, as Adalgisa (a virgin of the temple), and Stefan Pop, as Pollione (the Roman pro-consul in Gaul), all patrons enjoyed a most memorable night of opera at the Aurora Theatre.

Obviously such an extensive music festival involves the collaboration of many artistic specialists in their respective fields as well as the back-up of an efficient and effective administration team.

Thanks and well done to the Gaulitanus Choir for once again presenting such a successful festival of music, it being the 12th edition of this annual artistic event held in Gozo.
