Zach Muscat's Arezzo overcame Carrarese 1-0 with a dramatic goal scored by Marco Cellini in the 90th minute to secure their Serie C status for another year.

Following this win and Pontedera's 2-3 defeat to Robur Siena, the Amaranti guaranteed themselves automatic salvation without the need of facing a play-out.

Muscat, who played 31 times in all competitions for Arezzo, featured for the whole game away at Carrarese.

The magnitude of this result is underlined by the fact that Arezzo were handed a 15 points penalty during the season due to financial problems, but, however, the team held its ground and managed to survive the relegation scare.
