The Ministry for Education and Employment would like to clarify that, contrary to what was reported in the report entitled ‘Ministry silent on reasons behind suspension U-turn’ (May 2) it was not the ministry that decided to revoke the suspension (taken by the ministry) of a State PE teacher, but the ministry followed the decision by the Public Service Commission.

Therefore, the ministry’s position was that disciplinary procedures should follow. In fact, the ministry is proceeding with disciplinary procedures on the case after consulting the AG, and the process is underway, following the established disciplinary procedures.
