Maltapost’s service in parts of Żebbuġ is in shambles. I have noticed lately that the postman is not delivering letters every day. Trying to contact Maltapost’s customer care by telephone is the joke of the century – the telephone rings for hours without getting a reply.

I am receiving mail four to five days after being rubber stamped by Maltapost. On April 24, I received mail posted to me locally 11 days before.

Before giving up, I contacted Maltapost through Facebook. The officer who replied to my query informed me that this issue is being investigated.

After a few days, I sent a reminder but am still without a reply. It seems Maltapost is not enthusiastic, to say the least, to state the reason why the post is not being delivered every day. Is it perhaps due to lack of human resources or the delivery section is in a state of disarray?

Gone are the golden days when a letter posted early in the morning was delivered locally on the same day.
