Earth Garden Festival, now in its 11th year and attracting an international audience of over 25,000 people across four days, will take place between May 31 and June 3 at the National Park, Ta’ Qali.

This year’s edition features five music stages, namely: Roots Stage, Enchanted Forest, Electronic Sphere, Strawberry Hill, a live Jamming Area, two naturally-shaded campsites, an Ethnic Market, Healing Fields, world cuisine and a kids’ area.

Retaining the green footprint and eclectic music styles, it features over 40 international acts and the music styles played at the festival vary from world music, blues, jazz, funk, ska, dub, reggae, psychedelic and alternative rock, gypsy punk, psychedelic trance ’n’ dub, techno, acid, house, ambient, electro, drum ’n’ bass and more.

The main stage of this festival, the Roots Stage, will see some great international acts, hosting big names in dub, world music and funk genres of the likes of the energetic dub band Gentleman’s Dub Club; didge band Wild Marmalade, funk band Lakuta and super energetic band The Turbans.

Continuing with the scrumptious line-up are performers dub doctors Tetra Hydro K, West African harmonies band K.O.G & The Zongo Brigade, fusion band Markus & Shahzad and funky beats band Helsinki-Cotonou Ensemble.

The festival also just announced an artist that needs no introduction, but who will be undoubtedly welcomed and will make the whole Earth Garden dance – Nicky Bomba.

Kicking off with a 20-minute act on May 31, when Nicky Bomba will take the stage together with members of Tribali, expect a percussion jam with a drum solo by Nicky. He returns to the Roots Stage, for the closing act on June 3. Nicky Bomba with the backing of the Malta Ska Orchestra will be performing Ska, as well as his own tunes during this set.

This year’s edition of Earth Garden is part of the Valletta 2018 cultural programme.
