I was delighted to read that the Transport Ministry has just decided to upgrade the roads leading to Għar Lapsi and St Peter’s Pool.

Congratulations indeed.

Although as a Gozitan I cannot comment on the state of these roads, I was immediately spurred by this fact to bring to the attention of this same ministry the flagrant state of several roads in Gozo that merit immediate attention too.

As we happen to be on the brink of summer, I cannot but immediately think of the poor state of parts of the road leading from Victoria to Marsalforn and from Marsalforn to Qbajjar.

Will anybody from the Transport Ministry dare cross over to Gozo and assess the situation on the ground?

Will, one day, we Gozitans stop saying poor Gozo?
