A 78-year-old woman was seriously injured on Thursday when she was hit by a car while crossing Karlu Diacono Square in Zejtun.

The accident happened at about 11.30am.

The police said the accident involved a Peugeot Bipper driven by a 30-year-old woman from Birzebbuġa.
