One of the poems, by Adrian Grima. One of the poems, by Adrian Grima.

The poems collected during the long-running Poetry in Potato Bags project are being published in a book. These include Maltese poems translated to English, Dutch and Frisian and also poetry by Dutch writers translated to other languages.

The book, being lauched today, also includes recipes, experiences and photos by photographer Giola Cassar. The Maltese editor of this edition is Claudia Gauci.

During the launch one will be able to listen to a number of poems, the Safi Band Club and taste some wine and eat potatoes. Glen Calleja will be binding some poetry books by hand too.

On the night a film produced by Kenneth Scicluna will also premiere. The film looks at the whole process involved in importing and exporting potatoes.

This project is a collaboration between Valletta 2018 and Inizjamed, together with Leeuwarden 2018.

The book launch will be held today at 7.30pm at Abdilla Importers/Exporters, Ta’ Qali.  This event is open to all and is free.  For more information, visit www.facebook.com/events/161199911175624.
