The repair of the Xlendi jetty will start once the evaluation of the tender bills has been concluded, Infrastructure Minister Ian Borg said – but he was unable to be any more specific.

The tender closed on March 16, with four bids made, randing from €71,000 to €166,000.

In a parliamentary question, MP Chris Said had asked whether the works would be ready by summer. The works involve repairs to storm damage which led to the jetty's collapse, as well as reinforcement of its foundations.
