As part of the activities commemorating the feast of St Joseph the Worker in Birkirkara, which will be celebrated on May 1, an event titled Evening of Memories is being organised to reminisce the arrival of its artistic titular statue in 1972.

This activity is also being organised as part of the celebrations being held by the same parish relating to the restoration of the statue, designed by Maltese artist Emvin Cremona, after nearly 46 years.

Everyone is invited to attend the event, especially parishioners and others who recall the arrival of the statue and the activities organised at the time.

Families of deceased parishioners who wish to relate episodes whom their beloved might have shared with them are also invited.

Evening of Memories will be held today at 7.30pm on the parvis of St Joseph the Worker parish church in Bwieraq Street, Birkirkara. Those who would like to participate, have pictures of the arrival of the statue and wish to display them during this evening, should contact parish priest Josef Mifsud on 2148 3245 or visit the parish’s Facebook page for more details.
