The Gozo Commercial Court is up and running, to be presided over by the same judge that currently heads the Maltese one.

Replying to a Parliamentary Question by MP Chris Said, Justice Minister Owen Bonnici said that the court, which started functioning on April 9, will be hosted at the Gozo law courts in the Citadel.

The court’s remit covers cases that emerge from the Companies Act, and the relevant legislation behind its set-up applies to those who are ordinarily resident in Malta, Gozo or Comino. The case will be heard in Gozo when the defendant lives there.
