A technical centre where the police can work on cars that are held for investigation, has been opened in Marsa.

To date such work used to be carried out in the open in front of the police garage in Floriana.

The new centre was inaugurated by Home Affairs Minister Michael Farrugia and commissioner Lawrence Cutajar.

The police said the new facilities will enable them to better fight car theft, the sale of spare parts from stolen vehicles and illegal import and export of cars.
