The most important thing that emerged from the latest court hearing of Daphne Caruana Galizia’s murder case was the fact that the laptop or tablet used by the blogger is not in the possession of the investigators. The only laptop handed over, according to the witness who had examined it, had not been used by the murdered blogger since 2015.

Many wonder who would know where that laptop or tablet happens to be. The only logical answer is that some member of her family would definitely know. And, as it may contain a lot of information about those people who were sending information, as well as threats, it may have been decided to keep it well hidden from the investigators, thus making it more difficult for the police to catch the mastermind behind the murder, if there was a mastermind.

In fact, since this information emerged in court, members of her family have remained tight-lipped. It was MaltaToday which reported that the police have asked the inquiring magistrate to get hold of the missing laptop. When asked by the same newspaper if he had asked the family to hand over the said laptop/tablet, the inquiring magistrate replied that he could not answer the question since the inquiry was still ongoing. However, the victim’s sister, Corinne Vella, has admitted that the laptop is in the family’s possession.

What have the usual small crowd of CSN, OccupyJustice etc. protesters got to say about this flagrant lack of cooperation if they truly believe in the ‘rule of law’ and want to see all the perpetrators of this hideous murder brought to justice?
