These are the headlines in this week's local Sunday newspapers.

The Sunday Times of Malta reports that Anna Mallia has had her application to become a judge rejected, with sources saying a selection committee was none-too-pleased about her insistence on making politically-charged public comments.

The Malta Independent on Sunday writes that a group of prominent local artists have started a petition to have Valletta 2018 Foundation chairman unseated. 

Malta Today reports that the privacy watchdog has upheld a government decision to keep passport buyers' identities secret, saying that disclosing their data could damage to the IIP scheme. 

Illum leads with the headline "'Hell' full of drugs", with the newspaper interviewing a former inmate about life on the inside.  

It-Torċa writes that the investigation into Daphne Caruana Galizia's death is "problematic", with the paper also quoting Family Minister Michael Falzon's pledge that poverty will continue to decline. 

Il-Mument highlights Valletta FC's premier league title victory, with the paper also saying minister Chris Cardona is ready to drop a libel case which is threatening to unravel his political career.
