The danger facing Malta’s heritage is highlighted in the upcoming issue of Places: Design & Living with a text-book example – St Ignatius Villa in St Julian’s – from environment NGO Din l-Art Ħelwa to show what should be saved and why.
The bi-monthly magazine, out with The Sunday Times of Malta tomorrow, does not only showcase today’s architecture and interior design, but also focuses on historic buildings which are either neglected or await an uncertain fate.
Places encourages readers not to resign themselves to the loss of heritage, but to do their bit by, for example, becoming members of DLĦ. It also looks overseas for a property that encapsulates the charm of Mediterranean living and has blended into its surroundings without scarring the environment.
Zooming in on interiors, photographer and stylist Sean Mallia scouts around for desktop items to produce a mesmerising shoot that will inspire anyone and add smart touches to the workspace.
Places is produced and published by Allied Newspapers Ltd.
