Giovanni Trovade was Mosta’s saviour as his solitary goal beat Sliema Wanderers to secure his side’s top-flight status.

Having been in the top flight for the past seven seasons, Mosta have flirted with relegation on many an occasion in the last few years and have always managed to avoid the drop at death.

Mosta just before half-time as Trovade, arguably the most active player on the pitch, produced a curling shot from the edge of the penalty area which sailed into the top corner of the net. Zammit had no realistic chance of saving the Italian striker’s attempt.
