Andre Schembri propelled Apollon Limassol towards a 4-0 win against Paphos as he netted a brace in their first leg of the Cyprus Cup, at home.

The Malta international opened the score on 35 minutes before doubling the lead just before half-time to open a two-goal lead against relegation-threatened Paphos.

The second leg of the semi-final will be played next Wednesday.  

The former Boavista player has now scored 12 goals 38 games in all competitions and has been a key addition to Apollon who are four games away from clinching their fourth title and remain on course for a tenth Cyprus Cup.
