Transport Malta has decided that parking should continue to be banned in Rue d'Argens, Msida, during the day, much to the consternation of the local council. Parking is, however, being allowed during the night.

The parking ban was imposed when works on the Kappara junction were underway.

But Transport Minister Ian Borg told Nationalist MP Robert Arrigo in reply to a parliamentary question that the success of the project had meant even more pressure on Rue d'Argens. Since parking reduces this road to a single lane, TM had therefore decided that parking should only be allowed after 6pm.

Msida council said late last month that it will continue to insist that parking should revert to what it was before the Kappara project.
