The 2013 French film Les Beaux Jours (Bright Days Ahead) is showing tomorrow at St James Cavalier, Valletta.

The film revolves around a retired and depressed dentist named Caroline (Fanny Ardent). Her husband and grown daughters seem helpful but in reality are taking her for granted, just going about their own preoccupied lives.

That is until by chance she meets someone who ignites a sense of her higher self, puts a smile on her face but also highlights her neurosis. Though her insecurities are doomed to traumatise this beautiful but fragile bond, it nonetheless lifts her depression.

The film, rated 15, is being shown at St James Cavalier, Valletta, tomorrow at 7.30pm. The event is organised by the Alliance Française and Spazju Kreattiv, with the support of the French Embassy and the Institut Français. Entrance is free of charge but booking is required on www.kreattivita.org or by calling the booking office on 2122 3200.
