A seminar for teachers to explore the world of digital learning will be held at hall LT1, Dun Mikiel Xerri Lecture Centre, at the University of Malta’s Msida campus, on Friday from 5.45 to 7pm.

At the seminar, Dr Patrick Camilleri, a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Education, will speak on the theme ‘Understanding and teaching the first generation of digital natives’. In his presentation Dr Camilleri will discuss ways in which teachers can adapt their lessons to keep up with student behaviour, perspectives and expectations, which are evolving with technology.

The second speaker is Prof. Georgios Yannakakis, head of the University’s Institute of Digital Games, who will speak about how artificial intelligence and gamification might shape education in future.

This will be followed by a discussion over refreshments and hors d’oeuvres.

The seminar is hosted by the EU-funded project STEAM in collaboration with the Ministry of Education’s Department of Curriculum Management and the Directorate for Quality and Standards in Education.

Attendance is free and registration will take place at the venue.
