PORTELLI. On March 30, at Gozo General Hospital, JOSEPH, of Victoria, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his children Reverend Fr Marcell (MSSP), Maria and her husband Charles, Carmen and her husband Louis, Maria Concetta and her husband Joseph, George and his wife Josette, Victoria and her husband Sam, Fortuna, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital on Wednesday, April 18 at 4.15pm for Xagħra parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 5pm, followed by burial in the family grave at Xagħra Cemetery. SULTANA. On April 14,, at St James Capua Hospital, CONNIE, widow of Dr Wilfred Sultana, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss, her beloved children David, Paul and his wife Sue and Annemarie, her grandchildren Sarah, Nicola, Edward, Andrew, Karla and Michael, her sister May, her in-laws Marcelle and Arnold Sultana, and Joan, widow of her brother Dr Joe Muscat. The family would like to express their gratitude for the sterling care and dedication of her carers Natasha, Fahrija, Meriam and Isabelita, as well as the doctors and nurses who looked after her at St James Capua Hospital.
Mass, praesente cadavere, will be said on Wednesday, April 18 at 2pm at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, followed by interment at the Addolorata Cemetery.

On April 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELA, née Gatt, aged 94, passed to eternal life to reunite with her beloved husband Miju, comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her beloved children, Carmena, Catherine widow of her son Thomas, Maria and her husband Jimmy, Rita and her husband Mario, Sylvia and her husband Stephen, Rita widow of her son Zaren, Grace widow of Antonio Manunta, Joe and his wife Caroline, Salvu and his wife Lucia, Paul and his wife Therese and Emaunel and his wife Caroline, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brothers and brother-in-law, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Monday, April 16 at 7.45am for Mosta parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be held at 8.30am, followed by interment at Mosta Cemetery.
