PKF offices in Europe have committed themselves to make corporate social responsibility an integral part of their corporate philosophy, with numerous offices, including the Malta office, organising events to help other people and entities which are less fortunate.

PKF Francis Clark recently raised over £8,000 for Hospiscare. Seven members of staff at the Exeter branch undertook the Three Peaks Challenge, one of the most challenging mountaineering events in the UK. They raised over £2,000 scaling Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike in 24 hours. The Exeter office also organised dress-down days, bake sales and Christmas and Easter competitions.

Furthermore, as part of the gender equality drive, Claudia Barrera, finance manager at the Chile office, has been awarded a CFA Programme Women’s Scholarship Award.  The purpose of the Women’s Scholarship Programme is to increase the number of women in the investment management industry, thus improving gender diversity in what is traditionally a male-dominated profession.

PKF-FPM (Ireland) placed at the top in the prestigious Sunday Times Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work for 2018.  The Sunday Times annually assesses and recognises the quality and popularity of companies to work for in the UK, across all sectors and industries. Now in its 18th year, the ‘Best Companies to Work For’ ranking celebrates the elite of Britain’s employers across four different categories: the 100 best companies, the 30 best big companies, the 100 best small companies and 100 best not-for-profit organisations.

Over the past years two years, PKF Malta organised two art exhibitions to fund various charities and has committed itself to organise more similar events.

For these events, guests were entertained at the Casino Maltese hall and encouraged to donate for the Muscular Dystrophy group and, on another occasion, for the ALS Group by buying works of art.

PKF is a global family of legally independent firms bound together by a shared commitment to quality, integrity and the creation of clarity in a complex regulatory environment.  They provide world-class analysis and clear solutions in assurance, advisory, taxation and businesssServices for companies around the globe.

For example, the network is providing inputs on how each firm can implement the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which will come into force on May 25.  The purpose of GDPR is to strengthen the privacy rights of European citizens by making organisations more accountable for how they collect, store, protect and use personal data.
