UEFA has issued the following update in relation to the decisions taken by the UEFA Appeals Body following appeals made by four Malta U-21 players:

The UEFA Appeals Body has rendered its decisions following appeals made by four Malta U-21 international players against the decisions of the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body taken on 14 and 15 December 2017 relating to match-fixing offences.

The CEDB had taken the following decisions:

- Samir Arab: Art. 12 (2) (d) DR: ban until 31.12.2019 for not immediately and voluntarily informing UEFA if approached in connection with activities aimed at influencing in an unlawful or undue manner the course and/or result of a match or competition

- Ryan Camenzuli: Art. 12 (2) (d) DR: ban until until 30.06.2019 and community football service for not immediately and voluntarily informing UEFA if approached in connection with activities aimed at influencing in an unlawful or undue manner the course and/or result of a match or competition

- Llywelyn Cremona: Art. 12 (2) (d) DR: ban until 31.12.2018 and community football service for not immediately and voluntarily informing UEFA if approached in connection with activities aimed at influencing in an unlawful or undue manner the course and/or result of a match or competition

- Luke Montebello: Art. 12 (2) (d) DR: ban until 31.12.2018 and community football service for not immediately and voluntarily informing UEFA if approached in connection with activities aimed at influencing in an unlawful or undue manner the course and/or result of a match or competition

The UEFA Appeals Body at its meeting on 9 and 10 April has decided to reject the appeals lodged by the afore-mentioned players.

The cases of the players Emanuel Briffa and Kyle Cesare, who had received a lifelong ban from all football related activity, are still pending. The date of the meeting to decide on these cases has not been determined yet.
