Millions of colour-coded coordinates were used to build a computer model of the Argentière Glacier, in the French Alps. Hundreds of aerial photos were taken and fed into a software programme that recognises common features. Photos are then manipulated until a two-dimensional image is created. The aim is to develop a new way of visualising rivers of slow-moving ice.
