Bayern Munich could wrap up the Bundesliga title when they face Borussia Dortmund in 'Der Klassiker' on Saturday.

If Schalke lose on Saturday and Munich beat Dortmund then top spot will be confirmed, adding another exciting chapter to a great rivalry.

Here, Press Association Sport looks at some classic meetings between the two sides.

Borussia Dortmund 1 Bayern Munich 2 - 2012-13 Champions League

There was guaranteed to be a German Champions League winner as the two sides met in the final at Wembley and all the drama came in the second half. Mario Mandzukic put Bayern ahead on the hour-mark but the advantage was short-lived as Ilkay Gundogan's penalty eight minutes later levelled matters. It looked to be heading for extra-time until Arjen Robben burst into the area and coolly clipped home in the 89th minute to seal glory for Jupp Heynckes' men and heartbreak for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Bayern Munich 6 Borussia Dortmund 2 - 2000-01 Bundesliga

Ottmar Hitzfeld's side laid down an impressive marker in their pursuit of another Bundesliga title with a demolition of Dortmund, who actually took an early lead through Heiko Herrlich. But quickfire goals from Hasan Salihamidzic and Giovane Elber put Bayern in front by the 10th minute and there was no looking back. Mehmet Scholl's double and Paulo Sergio extended their lead and after Otto Addo had scored again for Dortmund, Salihamidzic's second wrapped up the rout.

Borussia Dortmund 3 Bayern Munich 2 - 2006-07 Bundesliga

Neither side were in the title race, but it was Dortmund who took the bragging rights with a thrilling come-from-behind win. Alexander Frei put Jurgen Rober's men in front before Danien van Buyten and Roy Makaay overturned Bayern's deficit before the break. But Rober's half-time team-talk worked a treat as Frei's second just before the hour levelled it up and two minutes later Tinga won it for the hosts.

Bayern Munich 3 Borussia Dortmund 3 - 2005-06 Bundesliga

Felix Magath's Bayern side had the title wrapped up before Dortmund's visit on the final day of the season, but it was still an entertaining clash. It was 1-1 after just six minutes as Jan Koller's effort for Dortmund was cancelled out by Roy Makaay. Quickfire goals after the break from Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Ballack made it look like Bayern would sign off in impressive fashion but Dortmund had other ideas as Phillip Degen and another goal from Koller earned a point. The draw was not good enough for Bert van Marwijk's side to seal European qualification.

Bayern Munich 2 Borussia Dortmund 3 - 2016-17 German Cup

These two heavyweights met in the semi-final of the German Cup and it was Dortmund who triumphed in another tumultuous encounter. Marco Reus silenced the home crowd at the Allianz Arena by putting Dortmund in front in the 19th minute but Javi Martinez and Mats Hummels gave Bayern a half-time lead. Thomas Tuchel's men produced a spirited response and levelled through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 69th minute and just five minutes later Ousmane Dembele sent them through to the final.
