One of the main events the Santa Venera External Festivities Committee organises is the exhibition related to Holy Week. It has been set up since 1985.

On show this year will be around 220 crucifixes, part of a collection of Jesus Christ busts, and various old prayer cards related to the Passion of Christ.

However, the main focus of the exhibition will be a collection of miniature statues by various artists, both Maltese and foreign. Among the exhibits are figures (buzzetti) of Our Lady of Sorrows and St John and works by Karlu Darmanin.

People can also admire the figure of Our Lady of Sorrows found at the Santa Venera parish church  by Alfred Camilleri Cauchi.

Entrance to the exhibition, which is open until Friday at 388, Parish Centre, St Joseph High Road, Santa Venera, is free. Opening hours are today from 5.30 to 8pm; Maundy Thursday from 9pm to midnight; and on Good Friday from 9am to 2pm.
