Ħamrun Passion display

A display of statuettes by Joe Cordina, representing episodes from the Passion of Our Lord, grouped together in tableaux format.  These statuettes are set on a crib-like structure made of rustic stones with trees, valleys and a water spring. Some of the clay figurines are the work of renowned statuarian Carmelo Agius of Pietà.

At 3A Villambrosa Street (corner with St Joseph High Road), Ħamrun, until March 31, daily from 6 to 8pm.

Mosta Oratory Holy Week exhibition

A Holy Week exhibition comprising a model of the Mosta dome, designed by Pierre Darmanin, and 11 smaller versions of the church’s Holy Week statues, created by the late artist Noel Cauchi, are on display at Mary Immaculate Oratory, Mosta, 50, Tower Road, Mosta.

Its opening hours are as follows:Monday to Wednesday: 5.30 to 8.30pm; Maundy Thursday: 10am to noon and 5.30 to 11pm; Good Friday: 10am to noon and 4 to 10pm; Holy Saturday: 10am to noon and 4 to 9pm; Easter Sunday: 10am to noon and 4 to 9.30pm.

Risen Saviour display

An exhibition of models representing Christ’s Passion and the Last Supper is  being held during Holy Week at ‘Ave Maria’, 52a, Lapsi Street, St Julian’s.

The exhibition, entitled Resurecctio Salvatoris (Risen Saviour), is organised by Christopher Micallef.

It will be open as follows: Monday to Wednesday, from 5.30 to 8.30pm, Maundy Thursday from 6 to 10.30pm, Good Friday from 8am to 12.30pm, and Holy Saturday from 5.30 to 8pm. For more information, call 9987 9677.

Valletta Passion display 

A Passion display by Deemer Micallef and Dominic Briffa is on display at 135, St Dominic Street, Valletta. This collective exhibition features a set of Good Friday statuettes of various artists and various items of interest related to Good Friday. 

It is open as follows: daily from 4 to 8pm, and on Good Friday between 7am and noon.

Via Crucis

An exhibition by George Apap in Valletta. Apap, an art teacher for over 40 years, reinterprets the Way of the Cross with references to the suffering of persons in concentration camps, the fallout of nuclear explosions and families in migration.

At Palazzo Ferreria, 310 Republic Street, Valletta, until April 7. Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm; Saturday and Sunday from 9am to noon.

Passio Christi

An exhibition depicting the Holy Week by Noel Zammit, including Good Friday statues by Joseph Cutajar Zahra, a miniature church model and other religious items.

At ‘Dafelonia’, Triq Patrick Brydone, San Ġwann, until March 31, between 6 and 9.30pm.

Vexilla Regis – Birkirkara

A Good Friday display by TEAK (Talent Elenjan Arti u Kultura) is being held within the Duke of Connaught’s Own Band of Birkirkara. Exhibits include a Last Supper display, Via Crucis statuettes and sacred objects.

At Duke of Connaught’s Own Band, Valley Road, Birkirkara, until March 31 between 6 and 9pm; Good Friday and Easter Saturday from 9am to 1pm.
