In the TV programme Malta u ’l Hinn Minnha, the Environment and Resources Authority highlights the beauty of our countryside and our valleys. We, therefore, expect that the regulator does more to preserve what is left of our diminishing countryside.

Many breathed a sigh of relief when the decision about Wied Għomor was made.

Every time I watch the programme mentioned above I enjoy the beauty of nature but, at the same time, I am saddened to see the alarming rate at which it is being destroyed.

I read there are about 400 developers in this small island. No wonder so much havoc is being caused in the name of progress and the economy. What crimes are being committed in their name?

We cannot go on destroying our countryside in this atrocious manner. What shall we leave to future generations?

What is regretted is that what is destroyed cannot be brought back. Do we not know that for people to be healthy, it’s not enough to promote a healthy diet and lifestyle? We must also be able to enjoy the benefits of fresh air in the countryside.
