Watch: After the bombs, a young Syrian finds documentary solace

Rania Mustafa Ali filmed her journey to Europe as a 20-year-old refugee

She might be just 22, but Rania Mustafa Ali has already seen more violence than people three times her age.

An Islamic State attack in 2015 forced her to flee the Syrian city of Raqqa for her parents' hometown Kobane. But the bombs soon followed her there, and one year later she packed a small bag, grabbed a GoPro camera and started her journey to Europe.

The ensuing documentary - a collaboration between Rania and Norwegian documentarist Anders Hammer - has been viewed more than 8 million times since it was published by the Guardian last year.

In this Times Talk interview, Rania explains what drove her to document her voyage in the first place and notes how European politicians are not all that different from those she remembers back in Syria.

Watch the full Times Talk interview on Wednesday morning - only on the Times of Malta website.
