He was a tall, bearded guy who had his finger in every pie. Whether it was the old and the sick, the vulnerable or drug addicts, Charles Miceli would try to help them using any resources he had. Surely, he was the champion of those who needed his help.

Just looking at him, one would say he looked mean and certainly not homely. But that was until one spoke to him and then the tune would change altogether.

I sought his advice many times and he was always ready and able to give it to me. He had time for anybody who needed his services and it was all for free because Charles was a volunteer.

His death at 68 was sudden and completely unexpected but he was prepared for this eventuality by the life he lived. He was a good man.

To his wife, Pauline, and daughter, Vanessa, I say they lost a remarkable man on this earth but gained an angel in heaven who will look after them every day of their lives.
