The following are the top stories in Malta's Sunday newspapers.

The Sunday Times of Malta reports that former Labour MP Philip Sciberras was granted a privileged pension reserved for MPs despite the Treasury objecting that he had not served in Parliament for the required period of time. 

The newspaper also reports that the government is proposing to have all SIM cards registered under the owners’ names as part of efforts to combat serious crime.

MaltaToday leads with the arraignment on Saturday of three men accused of having planted a car bomb which failed to go off in Fgura.  It also reports on concerns by hauliers that Sicilians are moving in on their business. They have reported stricter controls on the Italian borders, and rock-bottom prices to undermine them. 

The Malta Independent says an aircraft leased by Air Malta leaves a lot to be desired and has caused delays and fear across Europe. It also says that some areas of Marsascala are turning into ghettos, with people living in converted garages.

ll-Mument says former foreign minister George Vella is facing opposition to his nomination to become Malta's next president because he is against abortion. 

KullĦadd says pensions have been rising by an average of 1,050 euros annually. It also reports that Nationalist MP Beppe Fenech Adami has been refused a permit for his villa in Gharghur after failing to amend building illegalities.

It-Torċa raises concerns about a lack of factory space as demand increases. It also reports how an abandoned farm has been converted into a residence for migrants. 

Illum on its front page focuses on how buildings are getting higher, but parking spaces are decreasing, It says 200 parking spaces have been lost in Sliema in a year, but the PA is arguing that this is an incentive to use the buses.
