Hibernians crushed bottom side Lija Athletic by seven clear goals to condemn their opponents to Division One football next season.

The Paolites were off to a flier and took the lead after only two minutes.

Predrag Babic made a hash of his attempt to clear the ball away with Jurgen Degabriele taking full advantage by slidding the ball past Bonnici.

On 11 minutes, Arlindo anticipated the onrushing Luke Bonnici but the Brazilian gave too much pace to the ball which finished out of play before he could conclude.

But Arlindo made amends four minutes later when he connected to Jackson Lima’s corner kick and headed the ball into the net.

On 31 minutes, Joseph Mbong sped into the area and cut the ball back to Degabriele who hammered home.

Hibs added a fourth goal shy of the hour when from a Degabriele corner kick, Da Gracia Gomes sent a dipping header into the far net.

The Paolites were now enjoying a field day and on 69 minutes Mbong picked Degabriele who evaded his marker to fire the ball home.

Degabriele completed his poker a minute later when Bonnici’s clearance hit an opponent with the ball falling kindly to the Hibs striker who pushed the ball into an empty net.

Lija cleary threw in the towel and on 73 minutes Arlindo sped clear, rounded Bonnici to stab the ball into the net.
