Have you ever considered starting your own business? Have you been put off the idea because it seems too far-fetched or daunting? A new interactive half-day seminar aimed at possible entrepreneurs hopes to allay worries such as those and encourage interested individuals to embrace opportunities in the business world.
Organised by the Foundation for the Promotion of Entrepreneurial Initiatives (FPEI) as part of the EU-funded project T3QM, this jam-packed event aims to provide food for thought for those interested in the promotion of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship skills, or individuals keen to start a business. The seminar is free to attend, although registration is required and spaces are limited.
“This fast-paced event will take participants through an exciting line up of panels, where each panel will focus on different aspects of entrepreneurship, as well as information about the T3QM project and its methodology,” said FPEI manager Matthew Caruana. “This series of fireside chats with entrepreneurs themselves, mentors, educators and policy makers will cover the topic from their different fields and perspectives.
Speakers will include MEPs Marlene Mizzi and Francis Zammit Dimech, as well as George Vella – Partner Grant Thornton, Helga Ellul – Advise Ltd, Leonie Baldacchino – director of the Edward de Bono Institute, Michelle Gialanze – consultant for the Minister of Education, Julian Azzopardi – CEO, JAYE, Christian Borg – Merill Rurual Network, Steven Frigerio – advisor to the Migrant Women Association Malta, and Duncan Chamberlain – project leader at T3QM.
The event is being organised by FPEI, a private not-for-profit foundation set up by the Malta Business Bureau (MBB) and the University of Malta (UoM), with the aim of promoting and supporting entrepreneurship. FPEI encourages all forms of entrepreneurship, from high-tech, high-growth ventures to social enterprises.
FPEI aims to collaborate with other local and international partners to establish new initiatives and provide tools that will help promote entrepreneurship in Malta.
The seminar itself is being organised as part of T3QM, which is an Erasmus+ funded project. “T3QM provides an innovative way for adult educators to offer high quality and needs focused coaching to (social) start-up founders to become sustainable. T3QM will enable aspiring adult entrepreneurs, from backgrounds of need and who fail to access traditional support, to develop their enterprise in a practical manner. It is a new and unique tool for adult education organisations to offer bespoke support which can strengthen local communities and economies,” Mr Caruana added.
