The following are the top stories in national newspapers on Saturday.

Times of Malta says an agreement between the government and a private consortium that was to take over the running of the Marsa horse racing track has had to be put off by a further 15 months, as the selected bidder is demanding more favourable terms. In another story, the newspaper says the criminal gang arrested as part of the investigation into a failed car bombing is believed to be behind another explosive that detonated last year.

L-Orizzont says that three of the four suspects are being arraigned on Saturday.

The Malta Independent says the Gżira mayor has denied the PN’s claims that local councillors were not aware of the Manoel Island agreement.

In-Nazzjon says Transport Malta has requested a higher registration payment than it should for for post-2009 Smart cars.
