A package containing cannabis was seized by customs officials stationed at the Customs' express freight office in Luqa on Thursday.

The Customs Department said in a statement its people were carrying out inspections at a courier’s receiving depot. The parcel, which arrived from Germany, was heading to an address in St Julian’s.

Upon physically inspecting the parcel, they discovered the substance, which, following tests, was confirmed to be cannabis.

The Police Drug Squad are investigating.
