I have just read George Vella’s excellent article, ‘Duty to protect, not to kill’ (March 10).

We need more people like him to forcefully reject any attempt to introduce legalised murder in our country.

The sheer audacity of the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights to lecture us on how humans should have the right to kill the unprotected is shameful, disgraceful and reprehensible. He should do one thing: shut his big mouth or concentrate on where human rights are being trampled. Who on earth gave this man the right to play the part of a guiding light? If this is Europe, then shame for Europe and well said George.
