Before the start of the summer season last year, the Gozo authorities reworked the pavement along the shore at Marsalforn bay. This involved covering the area with new tiles.

When the last part was reached, it looks like the contractor was left short of tiles and the last section was simply covered in what looked like gravel and a small amount of cement. As can be seen from the photographs, a part of this area has now become a dangerous pothole for anyone walking along the shoreline.

There has been recent talk of the promenade being refurbished but I think that, before they start working on another section of the Marsalforn waterfront, they should make sure the part they left undone last year should, at least, be returned to its original state. It is shameful that the local administrative council does take note of such issues and demand they are fixed immediately.
