ABELA. On March 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELO, known as Lino, of Valletta residing in Attard, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Rose née Vella, his son Henry and Karen, his daughter Christine and her husband Francis Galea Salomone, his two grandsons Sean and Christopher, his sister-in-law Maria widow of Paul Farrugia, his brothers-in-law George Vella-Coleiro and Antonio Cilento widower of his sister Liliana, his niece Karen and her husband Anton, his nephews Gianrico and his wife Geraldine, Mark, Giorgio and Franco, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, March 15 at 8.30am for St Mary’s parish church, Attard, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
DESIRA. On March 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, GIOVANNA (Jane), aged 94, from Valletta but residing in Gżira for the past 38 years. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Twanny and his wife Antonia, Joe and his wife Monica, her daughter Maria and her husband John, Vincent and his wife Margaret, her grandchildren Dominique, Angela, Ruth, Romina, Rachel, Mark, Claire, Alan, Nadine, Caroline, Karen and Cristina, her brother Twanny Aquilina and her sister Carmen Pace, their respective families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, March 15, at 8am for Gżira parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

De La Salle College careers day
De La Salle College, Cottonera, will hold its 15th annual Careers Day at the college gym, tomorrow.
The event enables college students to meet representatives of around 70 exhibitors from different professions and post-secondary institutions.
A series of parallel activities will also be held. Form 5 students will practise CV writing and interview skills while Form 2 and 3 students will start of the process of selecting their main optional subjects for the following years.
The event is organised by the school’s guidance teachers.
