A toddler was rushed to hospital on Tuesday morning after he was hit by a car in Ħamrun, police confirmed. 

The incident happened on Triq Bordin and was reported to police at around 11.30am. 

The child, a three-year-old German boy, was hit by an Isuzu D-Max pickup truck being driven by a 28-year-old from Għaxaq. 

He was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital, where doctors certified him as being seriously injured. 

Magistrate Josette Demicoli is leading an inquiry into the case.
