‘Supporting the Student Athlete’ is the title of a conference to be held by the National Sports School, Pemboke, on Thursday at the Radisson Blu Resort, St Julian’s.
The key speaker is Manchester United Academy sport pychologist Daniel Ransom, who will speak about how to create the right conditions for sport talent to flourish. Other speakers include sport psychologist Adele Muscat and Joshua Aquilina, counselling psychologist at the Junior College, who will speak about mental health in adolescence.
Malta national and AS Roma Nuoto waterpolo player Stevie Camilleri will speak about his first-hand experience as a local player making a name for himself abroad.
The conference will be held on Thursday at the Radisson Blu Resort, St Julian’s. It is aimed at parents, coaches, sports administrators, PE teachers and all those interested in the development of Malta’s young athletes. The conference forms part of an Erasmusplus project entitled ‘Preparing Student-Athletes for Transitions’ led by the National School in collaboration with sports schools in Finland and Cyprus.
