The following are the top stories in national newspapers today.

The Sunday Times of Malta says the Education Minister’s former chief canvasser, who is facing serious corruption charges, has put a penthouse he owns in Rabat on sale despite a court order freezing the transfer of all of his property. In another story, the newspaper says pressure is mounting on the government to repeal the 1979 rent law before more people are evicted from their homes.

The Malta Independent on Sunday says Equality Minister Helena Dalli has expressed her personal support for the introduction of free contraception, at least to low-income earners, through means testing.

Malta Today says ‘foreigners living in Malta’ is noted as the third highest concern with 9.9%, reflecting the new reality that has taken root over the past five years and which appears to be causing unease among the Maltese and Gozitans.
