A concert of ethnic music is taking place today at Palazzo de la Salle in Valletta. The event is a result of the Intercultural Music Residency programme forming part of The Mediterranean Dimension project.

The event will see an ensemble of Mediterranean musicians led by Syrian composer and oud player Hassan Taha, who is based in Bern, Switzerland.

The concert will be followed by a reception in the courtyard of the palazzo.

The Mediterranean Dimension is an ARC Research & Consultancy project supported by Arts Council Malta and the Valletta 2018 – European Capital of Culture Multi-Annual Support Grant (Malta Arts Fund), in collaboration with Medinea, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Spazju Kreattiv, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, A Soul for Europe, Centre for Research in Culture and Performance at the School of Performing Arts – University of Malta and the Malta Society of Arts.
